What is a Commissioner of Oaths?
A commissioner is a person who is authorized to verify affidavits which are statements in writing and on oath; and administer other legal oaths, affirmations or declarations.

What is an Affidavit?
An Affidavit is a document that confirms that the document provided is the original, valid and the contents on the required documents are true.

Before documents can be authenticated by the Government of Canada they need to be certified.

Why do I need a Commissioner of Oaths?
